Requirements
- Verifone Commander running Base54+
- Mako 5600, 6600-M, 6700, or 76XX running CPE F6610 or later
Verifone Provisioning Process
- Ensure the Mako security gateway is online and running the required firmware.
- Run the Verifone Provision diagnostic. It requires the current Verifone Commander username and password. This is typically unique for each location.
- After the provisioning diagnostic has succeeded, the Verifone settings can be configured either at Site level (Sites > Manage Site > Verifone) or Enterprise Template level (Companies > Manage Company > Enterprise Templates > Verifone).

Note: Provisioning process will fail if username/password combination is incorrect. First, confirm credentials by logging into the Commander via Periscope or any other means available.
Verifone OTP Process
- Select the Mako edge device at the site from which you want to pull the OTP. Navigate to the Diagnostics page, and type “Verifone” in the keyword field. The Verifone suite of diagnostics will display.
- Click the run button for the Verifone OTP diagnostic.

Note: OTP must first be generated on the Verifone Commander before the Mako device can pull it. This does not work for help-desk OTP codes.
- Running the diagnostic will output a four-digit OTP code that can be copied and pasted into the Commander or typed in manually.

Verifone Commander Backup Process
- The Verifone Commander backup process can be configured on a per-site basis (Sites > Manage Site > Verifone), as well as configured via Enterprise Templates for use at scale (Companies > Manage Company > Enterprise Templates > Verifone).
- By clicking the Edit Verifone Settings link, a form is displayed where you can:
- Enable or disable the Automated Backups service
- Set Backup Frequency and Retention Period
- Enable or disable Automated OTP Display (in Periscope)
- Enable or disable Transaction Log Inspection

- Click Save Changes to save any changes to these settings. When the Automated Backups service is enabled with default settings, daily backups of the Commander’s configuration are retained for the last 7 days, followed by weekly backups for the last month.

Note: It can take up to 24 hours after enabling backups before the first backup appears. You can force a backup to start immediately using the Backup Now button on the Verifone page. Backups can take between 10–30 minutes, depending on the amount of data and the connection speed.
- Customers can restore the backups on demand in the event of a Commander failure or other issue forcing a reload. Customers can also copy backups from one site to another to speed up the provisioning of the Commander at new locations.
Transaction Log Stream Setup Process
- Navigate to the Data Streams page (Companies > Manage Company > API > Data Streams).
- Select the Tx Log Streams tab.
- Click the Add Tx Log Stream button to display a form for adding the stream.

- Fill out the relevant details for the data stream:
- Name: Any name without spaces (for example, “CompanyTxLogStream”)
- URL: Must be an HTTPS URL
- Scope: Company, company and customers, or customers only
- Delivery Attempts: Number of retry attempts on failure
- Auth Header: Optional, for added security
- Once details are filled out, click Save Stream, and transaction logs will begin flowing into the webhook listener.
Note: Transaction Log Inspection feature must be enabled for the site (Sites > Verifone > Edit Verifone Settings).
